Taking a Break from the Summer Bustle

I recently got into sewing and suddenly, my head is about to explode with ideas. My days are preoccupied with sewing (and cooking) and everywhere I go, I take mental snapshots of what I like and quickly stored for near-future use in designs. The need to create is kicking strong these summer days, as always is the case.
I just finished sewing a weekend tote bag that took me probably 5 nights of work. WHEW. Finally finished it (pics to come) and I must say I’m pretty happy with it. I’m starting with other people’s patterns just to get a hand at the different techniques and styles. I can’t wait to create my own designs and play!
I tend to have different hobbies throughout the year. I do whatever strikes my fancy. I allow myself to explore and discover what’s out there and I’m having a grand time! :-)
So, watch out for changes around here soon.
Wonderful. I’ve wanted to get into sewing for a long time, but I always put it off for other hobbies. Can’t wait to see your project. Fun!

I’ve put it off for years, until finally I have an extra sewing machine at my disposal. Hurray for moms who shop for things twice. :) I’ll post my finished project soon, I’m already preparing for my next one!
P.S. I love your avatar! Who drew that? Or was generated by a program?

Hurray for Mom! My avatar is based on a photo I took of my self. I used photoshop to create the illustration.
