For the non-knowledgeable consumer, megapixels can be deciding factor whether or not the digital camera they are purchasing is worth their money. Chances are, if you’re buying from a big electronics supply store, they won’t tell you otherwise. The truth is, it’s not the end-all and be-all. Gizmodo has a good article on this, go check it out.

Yes, you read that right — we spent our Valentine’s weekend in Las Vegas. It’s not exactly the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to romance (unless you are single and looking, I guess) but we did end up there with several friends from Phoenix. We planned to drive to Sin City for the weekend and it turned out quite well. We were able to secure really last-minute hotel reservations at amazing prices Thursday night, thanks to the recession.
We had some good food, good company and an overall great time. We were also able to meet with our friend who lives there. It still hasn’t really sunk in our minds that our playmate from when we were 7 years old is now having a baby. My mind was petrified for a moment, trying to reconcile age 7 to age pregnancy. One word: Wow. Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely happy for our dear Sarah…but this is when it knocks me out, when the reality of time passed–more than two decades worth–hits you. I believe we were still running barefoot on freshly trimmed grass on a bright summer morning yesterday. Imagine that.

While our friends watched the Cirque du Soleil show “Mystère“, Dan and I went crawled out to our dinner reservation at Wolfgang Puck’s Trattoria del Lupo at the Mandalay Bay hotel. Actually, if we had crawled, we would have been there faster than if we drove the car because of the extremely bad traffic on the Las Vegas Boulevard street, or “The Strip” as it is often referred to. If you must know, we were an hour late for our reservation. Yes, it was that awful. Thankfully, we were still let in and we had such a lovely dinner of lamb, handmade pasta, wine and a decadent chocolate dessert. Pardon me if I forgot what they’re all called. You know what they say: “Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” It’s partly because of all the alchohol that’s consumed that makes everything a blur — so one can never really remember all the details. Ah, life! We had other meals, of course, and I will talk more about that later.
I’m just concentrating on all the good stuff right first, because part of the Valentine’s weekend is a Series of Unfortunate Events (aka Friday the 13th?). And I am not even kidding on the Unfortunate part that involved a car accident, police ticket, getting lost several times–and one involving a 100-mile detour. I was hyperventilating in my head and trying to keep calm.
I like things in (my) order. Who doesn’t? So setbacks and delays really test my patience. When I focus on the negative side of things, I will lose it; so I try my best to just look at the positive side: in the end, we all had a great and memorable time and we are all safe home.
If you have noticed that the site was down, well that is also part of why I almost lost it. I wasn’t able to access kinkish.org last week at all and my emails have not been working properly. I’m too busy to even get this site fully recovered from the week of Friday the 13th (insert scary music) that I am just leaning towards starting on a clean slate. There are still a lot of things that need to be done around here, so please bear with me as a stumble this week with not much sleep. :)
TGIF!

This kiwi fruit was painted in ten minutes. It looks amazing! I feel so inadequate just making lists on my iPhone.
