It’s not what you think. :p
Here’s the thing: I dream within a dream within…many dreams. I know I’m dreaming but I don’t always know how many dreams deep I’m in. In my head I’m just like — “All in a day’s work!” as I tread through each dream. I can wake myself up from each dream, and I can “sleep” back into it. It’s very weird and I’d say this is one of those things I wouldn’t encourage you to try at home because it is tiring.
Last night I’ve been thinking that it’s trash day today and that I have to take the garbage out before 8am. In my dream, I took out the trash and then I realized I was dreaming. Drats! So I “woke up” again only to realize that I took out the trash again in that dream. Grrr. Are you getting the drift here? When I finally woke up I collected all the trash and proceeded to go downstairs to wheel them to the curb. I looked around for the neighbors’ cans and bins and there weren’t any. And you know why? Because Monday was a holiday so the trash day was moved a day. Argh!!!
I was “overworked” before I even started my day, you see.
When I was a child I had nightmares within nightmares until I figured out that I can be “conscious” in my nightmares and I can wake up myself from each nightmare. It was a concerted effort to win that “battle”. I never got past dreaming within several dreams, though. I’ve also seen myself in my dream and see myself in bed asleep. Apparently that’s a real out-of-body experience.
I’ve also “traveled” far while I’m asleep. When I was 7 or 8, I went to my best friend’s house. I’ve never really been there but I saw what it looked like and was able to peek in. The next day I asked her what their house looked like and she described it exactly as how I saw it in my ‘dream’. Freaky, eh?
Yeah. So when I say I’m a Dreamer, I literally mean I’m a dreamer. Dreams to me are something more than what I do when I sleep. It’s a lifestyle. Haha. I blame my overworked brain!
