Three Decades

So. It’s finally here: I’m Thirty. I should say it until I actually believe it. Ha! I was asking my high school best friend earlier (we have the same birthday, only a few hours apart) Where did the 14 years since high school go?! I mean I swear I remember us fawning over our crushes and calling our group MAPPLERS to signify our first name initials and our crushes’ like it was just yesterday. I can’t believe I still remember that embarrassing detail of my life. But there you go.

Such young princesses (i.e. spoiled brats) we were and believing that the boys in high school were The Shit. And how romamtic it would be to end up at the altar with them! [Blatantly naive Catholic school girls!] Here we are with different people and living such different lives than we could ever have imagined.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to say something along those lines 10 years from now. Still on this blog? Oi.

Life has been so crazy and wonderful and so unexpected that all I can really tell myself is: IT’LL KEEP GETTING BETTER. And I can’t wait for more great surprises ahead of me. Challenges that keep me on toes and ready for the next adventure. Love that will keep me pulling my hair and laughing heartily and attesting to the fact that I’ll do everything all over again without changing anything. Successes in things I love doing. Passion for life and living in the moment.

I guess what I’m saying is, I’m ready to be swept off my feet, 30!
